A preposition of time is a preposition that allows you to talk about a specific period of time.

In

“In” refers to longer periods of time.

  1. I’ll see you in 2 years.
  2. My birthday is in January.
  3. We usually go to the beach in summer.
  4. I was born in 1987.
  5. I usually don’t have breakfast in the morning.

On

“On” is use for specific descriptions of time.

  1. The meeting will be on Monday.
  2. They always have turkey on Christmas day.
  3. She was born on March 27th.
  4. The school is closed on the weekend.
  5. Don’t forget to call me on Tuesday.

At

At” is used for a very specific times.

  1. Please don’t call me at night.
  2. I’ll have my lunch at 1 o’clock.
  3. She’s in a meeting at the moment.
  4. He got home at midnight.
  5. John finally showed up at lunchtime.
